This information has been collected from the USGS Earthquake Probability Mapping web site. That website (now retired) was designed to display earthquake probabilities that are computed from the source model of the USGS-National Seismic Hazard Mapping Project (NSHMP) update. The region of model validity is the conterminous (lower 48 states) USA and Alaska. The generated maps show the probabilities of earthquakes within a radius of 50 km of a given zip code. Although this information is a product of the U.S. Geological Survey, they provide no warranty, expressed or implied, as to the accuracy of the data contained therein. This tool is not a substitute for technical subject-matter knowledge.
Since the website cannot handle a full class requesting it to produce these probability maps all at the same time, we have collected the maps you need to complete your assignment here. Click on the links below to see the maps produced by the USGS website.
